Speak Greek in No Time

Aeneid may be the last thing you will think about. Homer may be just be a nice shot for a classical Greek literature query. When you think about Greece, there seems to be nothing that would hit you in the spot as its language does.

For anyone who knows his Greek literature in junior high, he would know that he’s taking part in a 3,000 year old language. He would know that there’s something better than the romantic comedy My Big Fat Greek Wedding or that there could be something more profound than the Nobel Laureates, Odysseus Elytis and George Seferis. But she, she would know that Greek men are Adonis-like. Good use of the Greek langauge can be great for some people. The key is to visit greek language learning and find out how to speek it.

Whatever your fascination is of the Greek’s rich heritage, you would have a surefire means of satisfying your fetish. But there’s one thing that lasts: the Greek language.
You can book a flight to Greece if you want the exquisite taste of its culture and a real life encounter with the world’s rarest Adonises. That’s easy, but it helps if you learn first its language. You can read the original Greek classics in Greek if you wish, but it may take time for you to find one with “original” being more than just an advertising ploy. You can drive around and look for a Greek neighbor but you are more likely to bump into an American Chinese who owns the nearby grocery shop. You can look for an organization disguising as a Greek fraternity with authentic Greek letters for a name, but chances are, you will find Johnny Brosco there, the guy who grew up in and out of the can for selling crack cocaine.

You can browse the cable channels and look for a genuine Greek, even on the first cooking show you have tuned in to but Greek guys hardly ever come by the American Idol stage. So if it’s that hard to look for a handy way learn Greek, you might want to try learning from an audio book.

It’s high time you forgot about your grade school Latin teacher whose interest was more into the number of times you took the whipping. There’s a cool and fun way of learning a language, and this time you learn it at your own pace. You can download Pimsleur’s audio book on Greek language learning, and in no time you can hear yourself speaking Aesop’s language.
